B.O.S. provides PULD Unit to enhance safe drilling operations for Geothermal project Eden in the UK!

Last week our PULD 04 series was transported to the UK to support Drilling company MND and their Bentec 450 Drilling Rig, with safe and cost efficient transportation of drill pipes to the Rig floor.
The PULD, which is short for: “Pick Up and Lay Down” is one of the biggest and most famous Rental items in the BOS rental Fleet. These machines have a long term history in our company and have supported many drilling operations in Europe over the past 3 decades. Even though the machines are of an older generation and have mainly supported Operations in the Oil & Gas Industry, they are kept in perfect condition and are still able to support modern drilling operations and provide their support to the energy transition.
 
The machine will be used during Geothermal Drilling operations for the Eden project in Cornwall UK. If successful, the project will allow water to be injected down borehole, to be superheated by rocks beneath. The Rig will drill the first 4.5 km deep well of a planned 2-well Geothermal plant. The expected duration of the first drilling phase will be close to 5 months, If successful, the second phase will follow, which will have a similar duration
